The Story of "Rocky"
The Heart of Rockwall

There had to be more. There had to be something calling me back to the east each afternoon as I struggled through I-30 afternoon traffic. As a federal government employee working in downtown Dallas, all I ever thought of on that drive each afternoon since moving to Rockwall with my family two years earlier was seeing that beloved giant, our American Standard (the flag) waving faithfully on the horizon as I approached the second stretch of highway over Lake Ray Hubbard. "Keep driving to the flag. Keep driving to 'the Wall' (as I love to call it). I'm almost home." Of course, Lake Ray Hubbard is man made, but having spent so many wonderful years living on the shores of Destin and Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, it is so much easier for my mind to equate the beauty of the lake with the endless possibilities, the endless mystery and adventure of the sea. And so it was, in that last stretch of I-30 on that summer afternoon, the idea of “Rocky” was born.

Rocky isn’t just a design — it’s the symbol of home. The name pays tribute to Rockwall, the city whose heart beats with love for family, faith, and community. Every line, wave, and symbol in Rocky’s design tells a story about who we are and what makes this place so special.

At it's center, the sailboat represents life’s journey — sometimes calm, sometimes full of wind and challenge — but always guided by purpose and direction. The sun, shining brightly above, is a reminder of hope, joy, and the light that God gives us daily to shine for others. The rock wall next to the waves is more than just our namesake — it’s our foundation, built on faith, hard work, and unity.

The two small red hearts in Rocky’s design aren’t there by accident. They represent love for God and love for one another — the essence of our town’s greatest calling. Inspired by Galatians 5:13 — “Serve one another humbly in love” — these hearts remind us that when we serve each other with kindness and compassion, our community grows stronger and more beautiful.

“Sea. Shore. Home.” captures the way Rockwall holds all three close:

  • The Sea, representing freedom and adventure.

  • The Shore, symbolizing peace and connection.

  • And Home, the place where hearts return and love lives strongest.

Every sticker, every shirt, and every display of Rocky is a way to say:

“This is my home. These are my people. This is my heart.”

When you see Rocky on a car, a tumbler, or a storefront window, you’re not just seeing a logo — you’re seeing the reflection of a community united by love and pride. And with each purchase, 50% of all merchandise profits go directly to the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County, bringing light and hope to children and families who need it the very most.

So whether you were born here, moved here, or just love it here — when you share Rocky, you’re sharing the heart of Rockwall.
